Inspiring Chill-Out Corners

An awesome customer from Perth just purchased herself a Lujo bean bag chair (in grey / graphite) - and emailed us to say she's using it to create a little chill-out corner in her bedroom. A spot that gets the afternoon sun, where she can relax into her bean bag chair to read her favourite interiors magazine or a good book. How great does that sound! Inspired, we went hunting for some chill-out corners and reading nooks to share with you!

The comfort of a high back is a must on a reading chair. The shelf hanging above the chairt is a great idea - favourite books are within quick reach. The clamp light with swivel head is also a clever choice.

Where's the best spot in your house for a chill-out corner?
Any spot that catches the sun, if possible! Then you can bask in a little Vitamin D while you read...

A reading chair is the ideal addition to a kid's bedroom or nursery - the perfect spot for storytime and quiet cuddles! There's lots to love in this sweet corner - especially the charming wall light, fun patterned rug, and that teal ottoman.

A reading corner isn't quite complete until you've added a soft blanket or throw, and a cushion or two!

We love that rocking chair! And the warm grey is a great colour choice, it will 'grow up' with the little one who lives here. Another great idea for a kid's reading chair is a bean bag chair. We have bean bag chairs in a couple of shades of grey, with a small handle which makes them easy to move around a room.

Woah, that designer chair is to die for... The addition of a small rug, a lamp and one statement art piece really define the space as it's own zone. Great idea!

Start with a clean canvas of bright white, and add pops of colour through furniture and art. In this cute kid's space, the bean bag, ottoman, mobile and ceiling pom-poms inject personality and fun. The child's-size Eames chair is very sweet, but a more comfy, soft alternative for story-time would be a bean bag chair.

Again, grey is a great choice as it keeps the aesthetic of this chill-out corner very calming. We love the vintage wooden crate used as a book box. Add a stylish pendant light to illuminate the corner and position next to a window with a view... and you've got yourself a perfect reading nook!

Need a side table for your cuppa? A knee-high stack of books or magazines does the trick!
